Accentuate was originally the 2012 Legacy Programme for the South East inspired by the Paralympic Movement. Accentuate, a transformational programme of 15 major projects, was launched on 3rd December 2009 with an ambition of creating a cultural shift in attitudes towards disability in 1000 days. This ambition continues
today with further transition funding from Legacy Trust UK.
Based on the knowledge we have gained over the last three years, Accentuate is developing a set of opportunities through Accentuate Heritage, Accentuate Young Voices and Accentuate Critical Debate, to up-scale our vision and share this experience on a national and international scale. Watch this film to see what Accentuate has previously achieved at the half way point of the programme.

Accentuate has been funded by Legacy Trust UK, creating a lasting impact from London 2012 by funding ideas and local talent to inspire creativity across the UK. Legacy Trust UK is an independent charity set up to create a lasting cultural and sporting legacy from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in communities across the UK.
The Trust was a Principal Funder of the Cultural Olympiad and its finale, the London 2012 Festival. The Trust is now supporting seven key projects around the UK to expand on the ground-breaking work they delivered from 2008-12. Many other projects funded by Legacy Trust UK are continuing through support from new partners. For more information on all the Trust’s projects, please visit www.legacytrustuk.org
The Our View Core Group were an essential steering committee for the programme. Our View members were reflective of the cross sector nature of Accentuate, coming from a variety of disciplines. The Our View blog on the Accentuate website has been an invaluable resource in reflecting these diverse perspectives and has created a space to enable the development of ideas and understanding, resulting in two publications. This group of Deaf and disabled people will now further develop their role as part of the Accentuate Ideas Hub.
Accentuate works across sectors and is always keen to explore and develop new partnerships. Please follow this link to our partners section to see who we are working with
