Accentuate Heritage is a programme of activity that builds on the successes of the Creative Landscapes project as well as developing some new areas of work around the distinctive heritage and stories of Deaf and disabled people.

Accentuate Heritage will deliver national training days, initially in partnership with the National Heritage Open Days programme, exploring how to make heritage events more accessible to Deaf and disabled audiences. Accentuate Heritage has already developed an extensive range of resources which can be downloaded from this website http://www.accentuateuk.org/accentuate-resources These resources have been built up during three years of intensive work in Hastings and Gosport delivering grass routes accessible heritage events.

Accentuate Heritage will also develop a new national disability heritage project entitled Accentuate History Of Place.  This will explore the history of Deaf and disabled people alonside commissioning deaf and disabled artists and performers to deliver creative interventions in historic sites. Accentuate Heritage is working in partnership with English Heritage to develop this new programme of activity that particularly references an English Heritage resource exploring buildings of historic relevance to disabled people entitled Disability In Time And Place. http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/discover/people-and-places/disability-history/
